Bunratty Castle named Tourist Attraction of the Year at the 2019 Irish Hospitality Awards
Wednesday 27th March 2019: Bunratty Castle & Folk Park in Co. Clare was honored on Monday evening as it was named Tourist Attraction of the Year at the 2019 Irish Hospitality Awards.
The prestigious award ceremony, which took place on Monday 25th March at the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel, aims to acknowledge the commitment of local professionals and establishments that have stood out due to their dedication to customer satisfaction with the winners being chosen by members of the public.
The acclaimed 15th century Bunratty Castle & Folk Park gives visitors a chance to take a trip through time and experience what life was like in mystical medieval Ireland. With so much to keep all the family entertained it is easy to see why visitors are enchanted by this iconic attraction. Whether inside the imposing Castle walls or the vast 26 acre site upon which the 19th century Folk Park are set, a world of adventure waits. Every time you visit you can discover something new to explore; the Fairy Village, the Viking Playground, the vast array of animals including deer, goats and wolfhounds, or the mysterious Castle dungeons.
Outside the Castle walls, you can discover how people lived over a century ago on Bunratty’s historic village street. The Folk Park characters dressed in period costume, from the schoolteacher and village doctor to the policeman and Bean an Tí’s baking traditional scones, bring the attraction to life as they re-enact what life was like back in the early 1900’s. New experiences unfold all year round at Bunratty, as you have priority access to a packed calendar of events throughout the year.
